Pottery Club is all about making things that the children can be proud of! Run by experienced artist the club promotes patience and creativity by offering several different sculptures and creations throughout the sessions. Pottery kids often laugh and express joy at the feelings, smells, and sounds that clay can make. Manipulating the clay can be also simple first lesson for children, to help them understand that their actions influence the outside world and the art which they create.
While shaping the clay, children must give care to carefully think about their actions – “is the clay too thick?”, “do I want to make it taller?”, “how should this dogs’ tail look?” – and so on. It encourages children to think about and create a plan for what they want to do with their creations.
Create: mugs, coasters, ornaments, holders, jewellery, toys and more using air dry clay. Each child will take their creations home.
*please note this club does not include a pottery wheel*
