Okay so the poem doesn’t rhyme but do they always have to? Poetry isn’t always about making something sound good, sometimes it’s about emitting a feeling or expressing a thought. In this club the students get the chance to think outside the box of “normal” and dig a little deeper into their creative expression. Poetry is essential for children because it is “the best words in the best order.” The rhythm and rhymes can help children develop a love a language—and a love of reading. Once kids begin flexing their writing muscles, poetry can spark their creativity and let their imaginations soar!
